Congratulations, you found a little easter egg. When I was finishing up making my website, it realized that after almost two decades of surfing the internet, I now have a little place of my own.

Which in turn got me thinking how much I miss what the internet used to be around 10 years ago, for better or for worse. When everything was not directed by algorithms and advertisements. And don't get me wrong, modern social media is highly beneficial, it has somewhat helped me make a living out of things I enjoy doing, it just feels like the internet doesn't have the same old warmth it used to have.

As a reminder of the days gone by, I wanted to put a token of the old internet of my little website. Nyan Cat was made by u/prguitarman in a charity livestream in 2011, based on his pet cat Marty (RIP Marty), when he combined a pop tart and a cat on a viewer's request. The little animation became an overnight hit and won meme of the year in the year 2012.

To me, it is one of the mascots of the early 2010's internet culture, thanks for making it Chris.
